COLORFUL GUATEMALA
TIKAL, ANTIGUA, PANAJACHEL & CHICHICASTENANGO WITH AIRFARE
SAMPLE ITINERARY
FRIDAY, DAY 1: Leave US for Guatemala on major carrier at around noon. Arrive in Guatemala City via one stopover and overnight here at 3 or 4-star hotel. SATURDAY, DAY 2: Return to the airport in Guatemala City for a quick flight to Flores, located 30 minutes from Tikal. We will go back in time more than 2000 years to visit the ancient city of the Maya empire. We will visit the Great Plaza, the Palace of the Nobles, the Q Complex and others. After lunch, we will visit the museum to see many of the excavated treasures. Overnight here in the nearby town of Flores. (B, L, D) SUNDAY, DAY 3: Wake up to the sounds of the jungle. We will continue our sightseeing at Tikal in the morning. Return to Guatemala City in the afternoon and overnight in Antigua at 3-star hotel. (B, L) MONDAY, DAY 4: After breakfast, we will have a 2 hour walking city tour of Antigua at 9:30am. We will have lunch at the famous La Fonda de la Calle Real. The afternoon is free to shop, visit a museum, etc. Overnight again in Antigua. (B, L) TUESDAY, DAY 5: We will visit the local market today, as well as _________. (B, L) WEDNESDAY, DAY 6: Today we will have another free day in Antigua to explore this charming colonial city. We suggest visiting some of the many shops or galleries. Overnight again here in Antigua. (B, D)
THURSDAY, DAY 7: Leave this afternoon for Panajachel, located on the banks of Lake Atitlan. Spend the afternoon shopping and looking around. Overnight here in 3-star hotel. (B, D) FRIDAY, DAY 8: After breakfast, boat ride on lake to see some of the colorful communities here. Free time here for shopping, etc. before heading to Chichicastenango this evening. Overnight here at _________(B) SATURDAY, DAY 9: Wake up very early to Chichicastenango for market day. After lunch, back to Guatemala City for our last overnight. (B, L) SUNDAY, DAY 10: return home.
