SOME SAMPLES OF SUGGESTED ITINERARIES FOR
PARENTS & SIBLINGS ON THE COSTA RICA TRIP

Here are some sample itineraries with prices for adults.
Children under 10 who stay with their parents receive a reduced price. Prices are based on double occupancy.

SAMPLE ITINERARY #1:

DAY 1: Leave for Costa Rica with the group. Arrive and transfer to the Hotel Don Carlos.
DAY 2: We will pick you up around 8:30am for the Arenal trip. Please have your bags packed and stored at the hotel. Take a bag for Arenal and Monteverde. Upon arrival in La Fortuna, we will have lunch and check into the Hotel Montana de Fuego. Then, around 3pm , we will go to the hot springs . We will have time to visit the springs and have a buffet dinner.
DAY 3: Have breakfast at your hotel and then meet the group for our visit of the Fortuna Falls . In the afternoon, the option to go to another hot springs is offered for approx. $15 per person. Otherwise, free time in the afternoon. Let me know if you want to sign up for an optional tour, such as birdwatching, fishing, hiking around the lake, etc. Tonight we will meet to go to a pizzeria for dinner at 7pm .
DAY 4: Free time in the morning to relax or take a tour. We will leave the hotel at 11am. Please be checked out and ready for pick up. After lunch, we will go to Monteverde on a separate bus. It will take about 4hrs to arrive. Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel. If you are going on the night hike, we will leave the hotel at 5pm . The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for kids under 10. We will return about 8pm .
DAY 5: After an early breakfast we will go to the Monteverde Reserve for a 2 hour guided tour. We will have some free time in “town” afterwards to eat lunch, visit the co-ops, etc. Then we will return to the hotel at 1pm to go on the Sky Walk Tour, the series of suspension bridges. We will return to the hotel about 5pm. Evening is free at the hotel. We will visit a restaurant for dinner at 6pm .
DAY 6: If you have signed up for the Canopy Tour, we will leave the hotel after breakfast at 7am . Please be ready as this is not our bus. The cost is $45 for adults and $25 for kids under 12. We will return at around 10am . Please be ready to check out of the hotel by 12pm. Lunch is not included but you may want to eat something at the hotel. We will head to San Jose and hopefully arrive by about 6pm. Overnight again at the Don Carlos.
DAY 7: Today you will be picked up at Don Carlos at 6:35am (please be in the lobby) for the transportation by bus and boat to Tortuguero thru MAWAMBA LODGE. You will stop for breakfast in route to Tortuguero. Upon arrival, check in & meet your guide. Check the itinerary for schedule. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge.
DAY 8: You will have numerous included activities and meals today. Overnight again at Mawamba.
DAY 9: Leave for San Jose at 9am . Return to San Jose by 4pm. Check back into the Don Carlos and have a little free time.
DAY 10: Free day in San Jose to go whitewater rafting, to the rainforest aerial tram, visit a volcano, etc. Overnight again at Don Carlos.
DAY 11: Leave this morning for Tambor with the group. Please be ready for pick up by 8am . We will check into the hotel and have lunch, followed by free time. This is an all-inclusive package at a 5-star resort.
DAY 12: Free day in Tambor. Overnight again at same hotel.
DAY 13: Return to San Jose at around 1pm , with arrival about 7pm. Overnight again at Don Carlos.
DAY 14: We will pick you up in the morning (around 9:30am ) for the ride to the airport.

DAY 7: Today you will need to arrange a taxi to the PAVAS airport for the flight to Drake's Bay at 7:15am . You need to check in by 8am for the 9am flight. Upon arrival, check in & have free time. All meals are included.
DAY 8: A day in Drake's Bay with a full day tour. Overnight here.
DAY 9: Leave Drake's bay in the late morning. You will return at around 10am to San Jose . You can ask the hotel taxi (ahead of time) to pick you up and return you to the Don Carlos. Free time this afternoon to take an optional tour or see San Jose.

DAY 7: Today we will pick you up at the hotel at approx. 7:50am for the butterfly farm tour to learn about the life of butterflies. This will last 2 hours. Then, you will go to the award-winning Café Britt Coffee Tour. Tonight we will meet at the school at 6:15pm to go to the Welcome Dinner!! Please dress up and plan to return to San Jose at approx. 10:30pm Overnight again at the Don Carlos.
DAY 8: Today you will be picked up at the hotel for the whitewater rafting trip. This is an all-day event of white water action and beautiful scenery. It includes breakfast and lunch. You will return at approx. 6pm to the Don Carlos.
DAY 9: Please be ready in the lobby by 6:45am . This morning we will travel with the group on our private bus for 1 hour to the Braulio Carrillo National Park for the Rainforest Aerial Tram Tour. This will take most of the morning and will include a tram ride and a 1 hour nature walk. Return to San Jose around noon . We will be dropped off at the school and you can take a taxi to downtown, to your hotel, etc. Free time in the evening. Overnight at Don Carlos.
DAY 10: Leave for Manuel Antonio! You will take a short taxi ride to the airport for the flight to the beach. Ask to be dropped off at the Hotel Costa Verde and you can check in and relax!
DAY 11: Free day in Manuel Antonio. Overnight again at same hotel.
DAY 12: Free day in Manuel Antonio. Overnight again at same hotel.
DAY 13: Return to San Jose via flight at 1:10pm on Sansa Airlines flight #1606. Ask the hotel to arrange transportation for you. Free time in San Jose. Overnight again at Don Carlos.
DAY 14: We will pick you up for the return flight.
